Department: 5th Floor - Telemtry Unit
** We are looking for candidates that can work in this position for a minimum of three years ~ full time; both day and evening shifts as well as every other weekend.

The Care Partner is a trained assistant who collaborates closely with the other health care providers to provide quality, compassionate care and this individual has chosen to elevate the status of their nursing assistant profession. A Care Partner is instrumental in promoting and safeguarding the physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being of the patients and their families. The Care Partner is the first responder to the patient s physical and emotional needs. They give personal care and their job requires compassion and a desire to make people comfortable and happy. A Care Partner develops relationships with the patients and their family members in a positive, caring way. They assist in the admission process, collects data, collects information from the patient and/or family and relays the information to the nurse; identifies changes in the patient s condition and communicates these changes to the nurse; performs procedures according to physician order and nursing delegation; assists physicians or other professionals with procedures; performs personal cares and comforts; transports and/or
transfers patients; demonstrates knowledge of location, set-up, use and cleaning of basic equipment; assists with the discharge process; completes all documentation; processes patient charge items and completes order entry and verification; maintains kitchen stock and performs hostess duties; maintains a clean and orderly physical environment and demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload. In addition, the Care Partner patient s symptoms to the Registered Nurse and follows the plan of care; assists with involving the patient, family or caregiver into the implementation of the plan of care as developed by the Registered Nurse; assists the nurse with teaching by relaying pertinent information; performs fundamental nursing skills, tasks and treatments as delegated by the nurse and collects, documents and relays to the nurse the effectiveness of and response to nursing care, procedures, tasks, treatment and teaching each shift. Patients cares for include infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Required:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Registration by the North Dakota State Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant or
Registration by North Dakota State Department of Health as a Nurse Aide or
Those who have in the past never been licensed or certified as a Nurse Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant may obtain registration by the North Dakota State Department of Health within the first four (4) months of employment.
Successful completion of the functional assessment.
Strong desire to have a nursing assistant/care partner as their profession.
Possess a strong philosophy of compassionate care giving.
