Job Description

Kaplan College - Phoenix campus is hiring a Career Development Manager to focus on business development.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing valid employment opportunities for our recent graduates. This position will work extensively with community employers, chambers of commerce and other market contacts and resources to support the job placement function. Additional duties may include assisting with employer surveys, job placement, developing externship site leads, assisting students, and other duties as assigned.

Overview:

- Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with potential employers for all programs offered at the campus to ensure they consider a KHEC graduate for employment opportunities.
- Provide career services staff with entry-level, program specific job leads and orders.
- Must meet job order development goals as defined by Directors of Career Services.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local, state and federal employment agencies.
- Represent the school to local employers through attendance at association and community meetings.
- Maintain an accurate database of employers and contacts.
- Assist in managing employer surveys, response rates and reporting results
- Generate accurate reports on employers, appointments, contacts, and jobs developed.
- Attend daily accountability meetings, preparing a weekly report of activity and results.
- Must report on-campus in the morning and at the end of each day to report results.
- Expected to be in the field 4 days a week/80% of time.
- Expected to work on-campus at least one full day a week, to document all activities and conduct employer follow-up calls.
- Evening and weekend hours as needed and other duties as assigned.

The Career Development Manager must have excellent communication and public relations skills, be organized, able to work independently, and manage time well. Requires extensive local travel.
Qualification:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Experience in staffing agency, sales, marketing, or recruiting preferred.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedules.
- Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- This position requires heavy phone work and strong computer skills.
