Under direct supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty remodeling rooms; performs repairs and installations; related work as required. - Installs and repairs blinds. - Remodels rooms with metal studs and drywall. - Installs door frames, hangs doors, installs closets and locks. - Suspended ceiling installation and repair. - Ceramic tile installation and repair. - Builds simple cabinetry; tables, work stations, countertops, and bookcases. - Assembles work stations, modular furniture, storage cabinets, lockers, wall systems. - Must be able to install a complexity of items of considerable weight loads on various surfaces; work at significant heights. - Daily completion of work hour time reports. - Other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements REQUIRED:
- One to two years of experience in carpentry work. Minimally proficient in spoken English. - High school diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED:
- Three to five years of experience. - Jr. College or apprentice. Table saws, arm saws, wood pointer, belt sanders, drill presses, and other carpentry tools and machinery. Usually good, but could be exposed to all types of weather conditions. Lifts objects up to 50 lbs. and daily use of ladders and climbing. Required uniforms supplied by the College of DuPage. Must pass physical exam at College expense. This position requires a background check and drug screen.
