Job Description
The Cash Accountant reports directly to the Cash Accounting Manager and is responsible for corporate cash concentration ensuring each store has sufficient cash available to conduct business. Inputting general ledger entries and reconciling of assigned accounts. Uses independence and judgement to recognize and resolve problems within established policies and procedures. Is accountable for the quality, timeliness and accuracy of own work as directed by supervisor.

Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
-Ensure appropriate funding to support business operations by transferring funds to or from store accounts and the corporate Master Operating Account (sweeps excess funds).
-Prepares and posts cash transactions, deposits, wire transfers, fees and corporate level funding to the General Ledger.
-Updates Master Operating Account projection as actual inflows/outflows are identified.
-Verifies bank and point of sale transactions.
-Reconciles bank accounts to the General Ledger.
-Investigates variances and notifies Loss Prevention of suspicious activity as identified.
-May prepare corporate level deposits.
-May reconcile various balance sheet accounts and credit card accounts.
-May prepare monthly reports as assigned.� � � �
-Demonstrates superior customer service in all communications with associates.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the critical tasks listed above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting.
-Demonstrated verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and accuracy; and time management and organizational skills.
-Demonstrated knowledge various accounting software packages such as Microsoft Office with proficiency in EXCEL.

Education Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalent
-Undergraduate or Graduate degree from a four year university in Accounting, Finance, or similar program
