Sodexo is seeking a hands-on Catering Manager 1 for our award-winning catering program at Indiana University's Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) located in Bloomington, IN. In this role, you will be actively directing daily catering operations and managing events 80' of the time with 20' of the time spent scheduling, and staff training and development. Most of our events take place in the Indiana Memorial Union building but we also cater throughout the campus and across the community as well. You will be an integral part of our award-winning catering team with 3 other catering managers, 20 supervisors, 3 sales executives, and 120 service associates. The ideal candidate will have solid leadership skills and have the ability to inspire our employees to achieve the highest levels of customer service. They will show great attention to detail, be resourceful, and display self-motivated ambition. They will help ensure that our catering guests have a positive and memorable experience that would bring them back. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: * High volume hands-on catering management; * Scheduling experience and great organizational skills; * Training and leading a catering staff; * Labor control systems; * Managing multiple events; * Excellent customer service skills; * Bartending and cash handling experience is a plus. Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
