Are you an experienced Catering Manager or Banquet Manager that has a passion for high end catering and is looking for an exciting and challenging new position? Look no further! Sodexo has a great opportunity available for a talented Catering Manager located in Barre, VT. As the Catering Manager will report to the on-site Catering Director. You will be tasked with the booking, coordination and execution of campus catering events. Events can range from the traditional drop-off of coffee/refreshment service to upscale events for the University President and/or VIP receptions throughout the year. Although this is not a catering sales position, this manager will be expected to be comfortable with growing catering business with the support of the Catering Director. The ideal candidate will have: Casual and fine dining catering/banquet management experience -- experience training and leading a catering staff -- experience writing, costing and pricing catering menus -- experience with labor control systems -- excellent organization and customer service skills and an ability to transform spaces and create experiences for guests are vital. The ideal candidate will be able to work and oversee multiple functions and setups. Th candidate will also be responsible with working with the crew, making sure pulls are ready for the next day, and anything that can be preset is. Flexibility is a necessity. There is a lot of direct contact with clients. The best qualified candidate will have the following: - Hands on College/University or hotel catering and catering management experience - Experience with both casual and fine dining banquet management - Experience training and leading a catering staff - Experience working with bartenders and bar-tending set up - Experience with catering set up and execution - Experience coordinating and executing multiple events daily - Experience with labor controls and managing catering inventory - Excellent customer and client relations skills Sodexo is the 22nd largest employer worldwide and prides itself with great work-life balance opportunities. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
