Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager for SUNY Oneonta located in Oneonta, NY (located in the northern foothills of the Catskill Mountains; lying between Binghamton and Albany). Reporting to the General Manager/Operations Manager, the Catering Manager will be tasked with the organization, coordination and execution of university/campus catering events. The Ideal candidate will have a strong catering background, experience with upscale events, and the ability to plan, execute, and coordinate multiple catering functions simultaneously. Also, the Catering Manager has to be able to re-evaluate and improve on practices such as culinary and financial expertise, present with strong organizational/troubleshooting skills, and will enhance customer satisfaction and maintain very strong client relationships. The ideal candidate must have experience in creating and developing menus and billing. Position manages 3 Supervisors, up 20+ catering employees as well as culinary staff of 3+ people. The position is responsible for managing food and labor costs and managing daily catering operations. Strong background in Catering Programs required as well as strong experience with liquor and bar handling. Incumbent must be flexible to work varying shifts based on catering business needs. This includes some weekends and holidays. Position Summary Manages all catered events. Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
