Sodexo at Temple University is seeking an exceptional leader to become our Director of Catering with a resume of extraordinary results in high profile events. The successful candidate demonstrates high energy, is laser focused, highly creative and imaginative with a discriminatory eye for detail and will be accountable for the main Catering operation as well as providing direction for an additional operation. Catered events take place on and off campus, services include simple wholesome presentations to very high end productions all with seasonal and sustainable menus. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and trouble shooting skills and will be responsible to evaluate and improve upon existing practices, organizing and execution of all catering events. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of casual, fine dining, and banquet management as well as strong writing, costing, menu development and pricing skills. This Catering Director will have experience and additional skills handling a variety of initiatives to achieve sales goals, guest satisfaction, staff training, labor management, control systems, recruiting, training a diverse and talented catering staff while upholding exceptional service standards. Sophisticated leadership skills along with an executive presence are required to maintain strong client relationships through frequent interface with senior level leadership, University departments and student group event organizers. The successful candidate will pro-actively seek out feedback to exceed client and guest expectations. The right candidate will build the program with new approaches, a strong knowledge regarding logistics and event planning and execution, a commitment to processes and protocols for standards and safety/sanitation. Position Summary Provides supervision for catering services at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Implements business practices order to uphold Company mission and values. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through the implementation of services and creation of opportunities for growth. Plans projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo's strategic plan. Provides creativity and innovation to develop services and offerings that consistently evolve to drive customer and client satisfaction. Effectively engages with client partners at the highest level of the client organization to drive client confidence and loyalty. Qualifications & Requirements Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree. Basic Management Experience -1 Year Basic Functional Experience -3 years of experience in catering, food production, or food service management or a related field.
