Sodexo is seeking an experienced Catering Manager in our growing and dynamic catering department at the California Academy of Sciences located in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco CA. The California Academy of Sciences is a high profile account with approximately 1.4M visitors per year, and high profile, client driven catering. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of catering operations, with particular attention to internal catering; focus on providing a high level of sales and customer service with special attention to details. The Catering Manager will understand the importance of providing excellent customer experiences every time and will be capable of making decisions that best reflect the Catering Department, Sodexo, and The California Academy of Sciences mission. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and will have: * Demonstrated knowledge of catering and catering logistics, casual and fine dining, and banquet management; * A sharp eye for attention to detail * Ability to manage events that exceed client expectations * Excellent event planning skills, and is visionary in regards to presentations and creativity * Perform in this high energy atmosphere * Excellent interpersonal & communication skills * An expert in client/guest relations- this position will have direct client contact What are you waiting for? Hires, schedules, and trains catering staff. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events. Responsible for pricing, billing and resolving customer complaints. Develops menu/costing.
