The Loews Chicago OHare Hotel is seeking Catering Sales Manager to join our team. Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel is a 4 Diamond, luxury, 556 room hotel with 50,000 square feet meeting space. Catering Sales Manager provides outstanding world-class coordination and servicing of convention and group business. Directs the coordination and servicing of all group and local functions in the hotels Conference and Catering Managers to ensure that schedules are maintained and services rendered in accordance with written and signed contracts and Loews Hotels standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and repeat business. Develops and ensures achievement of annual local catering sales plan goals. Coordinates the development and accomplishment of Conference Management productivity, guest satisfaction and financial goals. More specifically, responsibilities include: Maintains an updated Free Sell calendar by communicating constantly with the Sales Department. 10' Provides written and verbal communication to client once file is received. Provides verbal follow-up/introduction one week later. 5' Maintains contact with client on a regular basis to develop a relationship between the client and hotel staff with the utmost in professionalism and accuracy. 5' Outlines all details of catering events in the form of BEOs and other reports so as to provide timely information to hotel departments regarding set-up, purchasing, and scheduling needs. 5' Obtains guarantees within 72 hour time frame and follows established guidelines within the Catering/Conference Management department relating to paperwork. 1' Sends all BEOs to clients for their review. 2' Attends BR meeting at 5:00pm when there is a lucrative piece of Catering business to present for approval in booking. 2' Effectively qualifies catering business for optimal revenue. 2' Plans meal tastings when appropriate within established guidelines. 3' Is on site during the functions to assist the client and hotel with delivery of product and service. 5' Provides outstanding customer service to clients while they are in the hotel to ensure total guest satisfaction. 5' Maintains accuracy of catering events information in Delphi. 2' Assists in building strong relations with other hotel departments, employees, and outside agencies and vendors. 3' Supportive Functions and Responsibilities In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions: Notifies appropriate individual promptly and fully of all problems and/or unusual matters of significance. 1' Attends all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions. 5' Promotes and applies teamwork skill at all times. 3' Is polite, friendly, and helpful to all guests, management and fellow employees. 10' Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area. 4' Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards. 1' Complies with required safety regulations and procedures. 1' Complies with hotel standard, policies and rules. 1' Recycles whenever possible. 1' Remains current with hotel information and changes. 1' Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards. 1' Ability to make decisions on imperfect information 4' Agility in multi-tasking 3' Bias toward action 1' Decisiveness 10' Other duties as assigned 3'
