JOB DESCRIPTIONCenter Specialist:
Ci3 is searching for a Center Specialist who will manage day-to-day activities of the Center. The Center Specialist maximizes programmatic research efficiency; assists in setting Center goals, marketing, and planning educational programs and initiatives; works with the Center Director and working committees to evaluate programs and/or research proposals and identifies and implements new Center priorities; develops, coordinates, and supervises events and programs including seminars, conferences, workshops, public lectures, visiting scholar programs, and outreach activities; may assist with fundraising efforts; contributes to grant proposals in collaboration with the Center Director; may develop short and long-term programmatic and administrative goals; writes and edits communication materials; serves as liaison with other Centers on campus and with related professional associations and community groups; typically manages Center facilities; develops learning opportunities for students; determines the appropriate value, hire, and negotiates with caterers and other vendors; arranges logistics for speakers; executes all components of plans for putting on events for the Center in consultation with the director; monitors finances for the Center; authorizes and ensures that all expenses are paid; and provides the director with regular updates and ensures that spending limits are adhered to and are within budget.
