JOB DUTIES:

Under minimal supervision from the Center for World Health (CWH) Director, Deputy Director and Director of External Relations, the incumbent will serve as the Programs Manager for the Center for World Health. The Program Manager will be responsible for the management of Center projects, including the research and development of new strategy areas. The Program Manager will serve as the liaison for all CWH committees and working groups. The incumbent will also be responsible for all communications and media management including acting as developer and content manager for the UCLA Center for World Health website and all-related social media. In addition, the Program Manager will steward special projects for the Center and support the growth of the External Relations and Development work of the Center.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to manage, organize, plan and follow through on projects in order to effectively set priorities and meet deadlines. Experience managing multiple projects and employees. Excellent English-language communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated skill in financial oversight. Skill in acting on own initiative, performing independently in a variety of situations involving diverse individuals. Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret institutional policies and procedures. Ability to supervise employees. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a complex and sensitive working environment; working as part of a team with staff on different levels in other areas within the organization. Ability to efficiently operate in the context of multiple competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work. Knowledge of University online systems, including rules and regulations governing online transactions. Knowledge of global health and international medicine issues. Proven ability to build and maintain complex, multi-functioning websites. Ability to keep sensitive information and issues with confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.

Experience conducting research, including evaluations and literature reviews.

Experience conducting policy analysis at the federal, state, local, and/or organizational level. Experience working in an international context with a sensitivity to language and cultural barriers. High level of expertise in operating Windows-based computers using electronic mail, Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation programs. High level of expertise with Wordpress and web programming, including HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript. Experience using social media platforms for marketing and promotions, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Flickr, etc. Proficiency in foreign language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, French, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian).
