Central Asian Linguist MD (54976)Intelligence LanguageUSA MD Fort MeadeSecurity Clearance: TS/SCI with PolygraphClearance Status: Must be CurrentSchedule: Full TimeType of Travel: NonePercent of Travel Required: NoneDescriptionThis is an interesting opportunity for qualified cleared Linguists to work in the field of Machine Translation (MT).Duties and Responsibilities: Build or improve on MT lexicons and MT specific language rules for the target language. Individuals assigned to this role shall be primarily responsible for updating and maintaining lexicons to be used with Government MT Tools. Linguists will be expected to be able to work independently on lexicon tasks but will also be expected to participate in development meetings as well as lexicographer meetings, and provide recommendations as needed.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years experience as a linguist, translator OR interpreter working in the target language with DLPT level 3/3 language skills or native level language skills as well as analysis experience.Demonstrated research, collaboration and coordination skills.Must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and be eager to learn and use new tools for MT development.A solid command of the English language grammar and lexicon is a must.Must be a U.S. citizen and willing to obtain a customer granted TS/SCI w/Polygraph.
