Job Description

Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for an experienced Central Sterile Team Lead in our OR Supply, Processing Distribution department.
The Central Sterile Team Lead:
* Provides indirect patient related services
* Leads by example & is a resource for their staff
* Prepares the work schedule & work together to ensure 24 hour coverage is met
* Responsible for regular & special traction needs
* Monitors the staff making sure that proper data entry occurs
* Resolves issues within the staff
* Works with the Nursing Unit Managers regarding par levels on carts & storeroom staff for stock-outs & backorders
* Also works to resolve any type of emergency within their ability
* Assembles & disassembles surgical case carts daily & replenishes the emergency code carts as necessary every 6 months
* Knowledge of Supply Scan Inventory Management System & Mediclick Purchasing System
* Responsible for restocking the supply scan areas, sterile processing department, rotating stock & checking for expired stock within the Brunswick Campus
* Conducts monthly audits of all supply scan areas & the Sterile Processing department
* Responsible for monitoring & maintaining 'fast moving' supplies, making adjustments & keying out inventory each shift
* Prepares & places orders for low stock items & empty bins to ensure adequate supplies for current shift & shifts to follow
* Ensures that the sterile processing department's supplies are neatly placed in bins, the item name is legible for efficient retrieval & the bins/shelves are cleaned each shift
* Must maintain composure & demonstrate professionalism all times when stressful situations arise
* Works collaboratively with other departments in achieving patient care goals
* Demonstrate ability to prioritize workloads in multiple settings requiring different skills levels
* Participates in department performance improvement activities
* Performs duties according to established procedures & protocols
* Takes initiative to identify & anticipate potential problems by taking action to prevent or minimize the effect of the issue
* Uses resources effectively & efficiently & supports department & organizational mission & goals
* Demonstrates cooperative interactions with co-workers, maintain flexibility in work assignments, active listening skills & appropriate verbal & written communication skills

The Central Sterile Team Lead should possess the following minimum qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Experience in sterile processing, supply distribution and/or materials management required
* Previous supervisory experience in healthcare preferred
* Computer skills
* Positive interpersonal skills
