Abstracts and codes medical records and diagnostic data; reviews patient records for accuracy and completeness. Works under moderate supervision.

Licensure: Home Care Coding Specialist &rsquot; Diagnosis (HCS-D) certification required.

New hires with Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) will have six months from date of hire to obtain the HCS-D certification.

Education: High School diploma or equivalency required. Associates Degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of work experience with medical records this includes thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM or current coding system and medical record systems required. Proficient with personal computers required.
