ROLE SUMMARY
Offers friendly, courteous and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure that the patient has a positive experience while at the clinic. Works under close supervision to assist practitioner with patient care.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Schedules patients for test, medical examinations and consultations.
2. Maintain cleanliness in examination rooms and requests supplies to maintain adequate stock.
3. Escorts patients and visitors. Take patient blood pressure, weight, pulse, temperature, and/or respiration and complete patient history information during medical visit.
4. Relays information to patients regarding preparation for tests and referred appointments. Assists practitioner with examinations and/or treatments and give instructions to patients as requested by the practitioner.
5. Performs clerical functions related to medical activities.
6. Handle correspondence pertaining to patient accounts and records. Obtains pre-certifications as required by patients health care insurers.
7. Assists in the proper maintenance of patient health records. Records and reports patient information.



SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and attention to detail.
Computer skills including Excel and MSWord. Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
SPAN style=FONT-SIZE: 11 PRN Variable days High School graduate or equivalent required
