Job Description :
SKF USA, Inc. a bearing manufacturer in Hanover, PA seeks an experienced Channel Grinder Operator in our Bearing Operations. SKF has been a leading global technology provider since 1907. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION: Perform duties to set up and operate a continuous flow production line to grind, finish, repair and sort rollers, rings and assemble various bearings.

Work from instructions, shop prints, scheduling and manufacturing information. Set up and operate the full complement of assigned grinding and finishing machines, roller sorting equipment, inspection and assembly equipment and allied equipment. Make necessary changes and adjustments to machines and equipment to maintain set up and quality. Reset and adjust conveyors and tracks. Change, preset and reset tooling and fixturing. Change and shape stones and wheels. Change tapes. Use, adjust and set inspection gages and measuring equipment. Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspections to assure proper quality characteristics. Sort, match,inspect rollers and bearing components and assemble bearings to fit requirements. Check fit, radial looseness, axial looseness, inspect bore, OD and visually check for defects. Notify grinding personnel of required dimensional changes to obtain proper dispersion of races. Adjust gages. Operate assembly presses. Calculate required dimensional changes to obtain proper Dispersion. Perform salvage and reconstruction of bearings. Plot and assess S.P.C. charts and adjust process accordingly. Order and follow up required components and materials from stores. Wash and slush parts and bearings. Perform etching, greasing, wrapping, boxing and packing operations. Operate, adjust and clean labeling and printing machines. Identify and sort rejects, scrap and rework. Make minor repairs and perform routine preventive maintenance. Move work as required. Maintain records; fill out forms, reports and work orders. Meet with/or communicate with other departments. Meet with and/or visit vendors and customers as needed. Maintains tooling and spare parts inventory.

Participate as a team member, improve team operation, develop team and members involvement, assure team leadership to achieve and improve channel operation and goals. Help to solve channel operation problems. Maximize channel utilization and productivity through team involvement.

Follow safety rules and keep Channel clean and in orderly condition. Perform other related duties as assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED Including but not limited to: Grinding, combination grinding, honing, polishing and finishing machines; hoists, Sorting machines and equipment; hand trucks and other material handling equipment; hand, bench, and indicator gages; electric or electronic gages; precision measuring instruments, hand tools; prints and masters; washers and greasers, templates, presses, fixtures; packaging materials and equipment, pans, skids, trays; box labeling and printing machine and plate making equipment.

* Knowledge in Mechanical field gained through trades training or through work experience

* Requires shop math, prints, specifications

* use of precision measuring instruments

* Candidate must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift
