The Charge Nurse creates an environment for the management and delivery of safe patient care. The Charge Nurse is a role model and coach to department personnel and assists in developing their skills and knowledge.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited Nursing School Bachelor's degree preferred
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS At least 18 months' experience required CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED Registered Nurse with current nursing license to practice in the state of Texas Current BLS Certification Required for all nurses (Must be American Heart Association BCLS "Healthcare Provider") Other certifications as required by unit/service
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Must be able to perform skills and competencies as defined in orientation checklist and annual departmental competency checklist if applicable. Basic computer skills Must be able to write and speak effectively in English
