The Catering Chef, along with the management team is actively engaged in the campus community and maintains an upbeat campus partner relationship while providing assistance in all dining service as needed. We are proud of our Campus Sustainability efforts and in your role; you will be involved with the Dining Global Chef and local culinary programs. As a part of this team-centered environment, the Catering Chef maintains a high level of food quality and customer service in all aspects of food prep and presentation in Catering, and assists in Resident Dining as business permits. Position is responsible for; day to day culinary operations, HACCP & Safety, training as pertains to all culinary staff, and support of the financial and HR functions. Critical to your success in this position is your extra ordinary customer service and satisfaction results along with your resilient public relations. Ideal Candidate Skills, Certification; Culinary Degree / Trade School Certificate and Servsafe Certificate Prior Catering food service experience in a management/supervisory role Food production and catering background with attention to detail Detailed knowledge of HACCP and Department of Health Regulations Experience monitoring culinary standards; recipe compliance and food quality Experience with team building & training Ability to recognize staff strengths & optimize available labor Computer skills to work in Food Inventory & Purchasing Systems Menu development, inventory and on-line ordering skills Financial skills to monitor food & labor costs A passion for welcoming dining experience through excellent customer service Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire; The position will require flexibility of work schedule. May be responsible for one area (i.e., hot foods) or could specialize (i.e., catering). Supervises a staff of hourly associates. May be responsible for food inventory and ordering. May conduct culinary training. Manages the kitchen. Reports to GM or Executive Chef.
