JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Biblica, the International Bible Society, is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to strategically shape and guide all aspects of advancement for this global ministry organization. This exciting executive leadership opportunity will allow the right highly-qualified candidate to use his or her breadth of skills and past leadership experience to serve and help lead one of the oldest and most estimable scripture ministries in the world.
Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Biblica dates back more than 200years, when it was founded by some of New York City's leading philanthropists, thinkers, and businessmen to reach America's leading city -- and ultimately the world -- with the gospel. First as the New York Bible Society, then as the International Bible Society, and today as Biblica, the ministry has pioneered new ways of accessing and experiencing the Bible at home and around the world. Today Biblica serves in 55 countries and reaches up to 100 million people with God's word each year.
The new CAO will be an outgoing connector who can develop and engage high net worth givers while also building a comprehensive, world-class advancement program. Responsibilities will include leadership of Biblica's fundraising and marketing/communications departments, as well as service on the global leadership team and direct donor solicitation. Building on Biblica's rich history, the new CAO will develop and implement a comprehensive advancement strategy, as well as build and manage a premiere advancement department in order to help position the ministry for continued success and global impact. He/She will be able to coordinate the overall aspects of a successful campaign, implement and oversee effective data analysis, develop communication strategies, and ensure his/her departments execute against clearly established metrics and time lines. In addition, the successful candidate will have a high comfort and proven success in "making the ask" and closing commitments from $100,000 to $1,000,000 and more. He/She must understand the principles of philanthropy and the processes of fundraising, be a strong manager and team builder, and have a compelling personal commitment to Jesus Christ, the Great Commission, and biblical stewardship.
The new Chief Advancement Officer will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic advancement plans and helping shape an overall organizational culture where fundraising is central to all aspects of the ministry. The position is based in Colorado Springs at Biblica's international headquarters and will require up to 50% travel, both domestic and overseas.
