Chief Engineer

Responsibilities: Supervises Central Plant operations including Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Air Handling Units, Fans and Building Automation System. Schedules shift coverage with Full Time and PRN staff. Administers Preventive and Corrective Maintenance. Acts as liaison to coordinate outside vendor activity. Maintains appropriate parts inventory and/or acquisition availability. Maintains energy efficiency. Participates in operational and capital budgeting, code compliance and joint commission standards. Occasionally interacts with patients ranging in age.

Qualification: High School or vocational/trade school graduation. Associate degree in mechanical engineering preferred. Grade 1/First Class Maryland Boiler Operators License required. Previous boiler plant or maintenance supervisory experience required. Must have a minimum of five (5) years boiler plant operation experience with three (3) years maintenance supervisory experience preferably in a healthcare environment. Equipment experience includes high pressure boiler plant environment, shift management operation to include plant overview, routine repair maintenance, and project management. Experience with automated energy control (DDC), equipment life cycle planning, automated maintenance management system experience, capital and operating budget development. Previous experience developing and maintaining staff scheduling for 24 hour rotation coverage. Full-time Day shift
