As our CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, every day is a chance to be a key member of the Senior Management Team and help lead an organization of professionals who are dedicated to doing what right, because it is the right thing to do. The Chief Financial Officer will work directly with the Board of Directors, CEO, and COO to make long-term organizational decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating models, and grant and contract development and management. This position is responsible for the current and future fiscal and administrative integrity of the organization and ensures that timely, accurate fiscal and programmatic data are available to the Board of Directors, management team, and external entities as required.
The CFO remains current on best practices and oversees compliance with laws, regulations, and fiscal and administrative requirements of 30+ federal, state, county, and privately funded grants and contracts with face values in excess of $16 million. This individual must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment, work autonomously in a results and deadline oriented workplace, maintain confidentiality, and lead the organizational 15 member administrative team, including the Fiscal Manager, Human Resources Manager, and Information Technology Manager. The stability of this position depends directly upon individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
A successful CFO will be an experienced, forward-thinking, and a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong financial focus. This seasoned executive should have experience driving strategic planning initiatives, be articulate and possess excellent communication skills with the ability to establish a strong working relationship as well as the ability to make effective, persuasive, and understandable presentations to the Executive Team, Board, employees, fund sources, and the public on complex topics and issues.
_AS A CFO, A DAY MIGHT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: _
Ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial, data, and management reporting and translate performance measures of the organization into useful information for the Board and leadership team, and converting organizational strategies into measurable, actionable plans.The CFO fulfills key functions as a leader in grant/contract applications. The CFO is responsible for budget development/supervision to support planned program outcomes. Other functions include narration, strategic input, community partnership development, focus group facilitation, and other related activities.
* FISCAL INTEGRITY:
Responsible for fiscal integrity of the organization as a whole, creating and applying policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. Leads audit and administrative monitoring efforts, ensures timely filing of all audits and tax returns. Liaison with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
* ORGANIZATION-WIDE BUDGETING AND PLANNING:
Once the annual staffing pattern is approved by the CEO, the CFO updates the Cost Allocation and Indirect Cost Plans, budgeting overhead costs across all contracts throughout the fiscal year. In addition, creating and maintaining, or supervising, the development of strategic program budgets, and determining the potential financial impact of budgetary decision making. Determines cash flow and other reserve fund needs, updating the Board annually.
* ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEMS:
Oversee the administration of the organization accounting system, ensuring proper and timely maintenance of internal controls and financial processes and procedures. The CFO creates systems, procedures, and drafts policies in the following areas: accounting, procurement, internal controls, information management and systems, network administration, Internet operations, human resources, benefits administration, risk management, banking and credit, and general office systems.
* ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGERS SUPERVISION:
Create and maintain the organization's risk management plan, including facilitating and supervising the reporting, tracking, follow up, and remediation of identified risks.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
* Minimum 5years financial management and supervisory experience in an organization with a multi-source budget in excess of $5 million, and a minimum of 10years of broadly based accounting experience.
* Technical expertise, including extensive experience with computer based accounting software, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base software.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills required.
* Knowledge of federal fiscal and administrative regulations, including OMB Super Circular and single audits.
* Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.
* CPA or MBA preferred.
* Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) credential

* RETIREMENT: Participation in the Organization's 403(b) Retirement Plan with a generous employer contribution once eligible following probationary period.
* HEALTH PLAN & VISION PLAN: PPO and High Deductible options with FSA and HSA options (respectively). The Organization contributes up to $7,968 per year for the employee only health benefit costs and an additional amount for the employee's dependents, if applicable.
