Job Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling activities of Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning, Reimbursement, and Revenue Cycle. Responsible for reviewing actual performance against budget to assure SMC and affiliated operations are managed within approved funding levels and makes recommendations to correct unfavorable variances or patterns. Serves as the financial liaison to the Board of Directors and operational areas of the organization. Participates as appropriate in organizational and operations-oriented process improvement projects and financial improvement initiatives. Guides and oversees the accurate recording and controlling of SMC s accounting transactions and assures compliance with GAAP. Lead SMC and affiliated operations through changing reimbursement environment as we shift from volume to value.

Education, Training and Experience:

Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related area required. Master s Degree preferred. CPA preferred. Eight or more years of progressive healthcare financial experience, with at least five years in leadership and/or supervisory position. NYS experience preferred. Experience as Controller or Director of Finance for an integrated healthcare delivery system highly preferred.
