Provides professional guidance and technical oversight of the Molecular diagnostics division. Ensures that quality lab results are provided by the testing systems existing in the lab, and if needed participate in acquisition of new and improved testing platforms. Validates test methodologies and ensures the methodologies selected have the capability of providing quality results required for patient care. Ensures all necessary remedial actions are taken and documented, whenever significant deviations from the labs established performance specifications are identified. Has oversight on daily molecular lab operations, including maintaining daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly Q/A statistics. Interacts and closely works with the medical director of molecular diagnostics on matters relating to the quality of test results reported, and their interpretation concerning specific patient conditions. Assumes responsibility in the performance, reporting and follow-up of proficiency sample testing.
Five years working in a Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory.
