The Chief Nursing Officer uses discretion and
independent judgment to organize and administer
psychiatric nursing services at the hospital. The CNO
provides leadership in developing performance standards
for all nursing department personnel, and evaluates and
counsels all employees on their performance in a
professional and timely manner. The CNO directs the
implementation and ensures compliance with standards of
nursing practices that promote optimal health care
delivery and meet regulatory requirements.
As a member of senior management team, this position
ensures the development, implementation and evaluation
of policies, programs and services consistent with the
facility s goals and objectives, and actively
participates in a leadership role by consulting with
facility management in designing and providing total
patient care and services. The CNO functions in an
advisory capacity to the CEO in evaluating and
establishing best practices.
Education: BSN/MSN preferred.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years experience in
nursing administration and/or dedicated leadership
experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in PA.
