Department: Center for Clinical Excellence
The Childbirth Educator provides formal and informal instruction for consumers of maternity care, participates in program development and evaluation; serves as a facilitator; teacher and resource person for clients attending childbirth education classes and tours. The Childbirth Educator applies the principles of growth and development when assessing and interpreting patient information, and planning and implementing individual care based on the age-related needs of the adolescent, adult, geriatric patient and their families.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a Bachelors of Science in Health Education or related field. Completion or certification in a course related specialty. One (1) year related teaching experience in education. Current certification as a Childbirth Educator preferred. Temp Pool Day/Evening Shift Bachelors degree is required Certification Required
