Job Description

MWH is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal level Client Service Manager to lead our Fisheries Engineering practice.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:

Serve as technical lead and project manager on a wide variety of fish passage projects including planning, design and construction services. The candidate will lead a team of engineers, biologists, and water resource professionals.
Conduct technical evaluations and prepare concept designs supporting fish screening, fish passage and barriers, and hatchery projects. Additional expertise would be needed in the areas of hydraulic structures, water supply, environmental impact studies, infrastructure rehabilitation, and design.
Facilitate development of new work and coordinate ongoing work with clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors. Serve as QA/QC reviewer on technical work performed by the group.
Manage group and project administration functions including writing reports, gathering information, leading proposal efforts, drafting correspondence.

Own and lead business development for all existing and future projects in the Fisheries Engineering arena.QualificationsThe following experience is required for the successful applicant:
Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering, water resources engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer License required, WA State preferred.
10+ years of experience in fisheries engineering and water resources planning and design related to fish passage, fish hatcheries, hydraulic structures, dams, environmental engineering and planning, water quality, water conservation, groundwater, and master planning.
Familiarity with regional water resources including water-related infrastructure and applicable laws/ policies/ regulations, including endangered species act, federal and state fisheries agencies on the west coast.
Experience with the municipal and hydropower licensing and environmental mitigation market.

Good interpersonal abilities for working in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A minimum of 5 years project management experience.
Experience in marketing and proposal development is strongly desired. Experience with conceptual fish passage designs and negotiating these designs with fisheries agencies is also strongly desired.
Experience with hydraulic modeling, hydropower, water intakes, and river hydraulics.
