General problem solving in a solutions oriented manner for both providers and veterans. Essential Job Functions: Ensures travel kits are organized and necessary supplies are available Arrives 30 minutes prior to scheduled exams Displays snacks/water/flags/veteran material in the provider s waiting area and posts VES signs on the door Greets each veteran immediately and provides sign in sheet Provides information to the providers (worksheets/HX forms/day/face sheets) Assist providers with vitals (weight, height, blood pressure) Documents and updates OMS comments for everything done pertaining to veterans and providers Makes confirmation and reminder calls to Veterans Saves faxed sign-in sheets and updates exam statuses accordingly Keeps all veterans information private Is courteous and respectful Adheres to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Senior Intake and RCM with various projects as needed. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good written and verbal communication skills are needed Good knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to multitask Knowledge of HIPAA and security requirements Familiar with medical terminology to converse intelligently with physicians, and other staff members Communication skills necessary to provide information in a courteous and comprehensible fashion (oral and written) Knowledge of company policies and procedures Must possess the desire to assist our wounded veterans with a caring, positive and patriotic attitude CPR certification is required 10. Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation Working Conditions: Normal office environment with some exposure to moderate noise from office equipment and/or generated by staff members Extended hours are commonly required beyond the regular eight hour work day, including extended work days and weekends Frequently utilizes telephone, computer, and printer; occasionally utilizes copy machine Occasionally lifting and/or carrying items weighing up to approximately twenty-five pounds. Requires occasional auto/air travel Occasionally deals with situations involving hostile examinees Minimum Level of Preparation and Training: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training in a medical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
