The Administrator of Med Peds section under the division of General Internal Medicine will efficiently manage, operate, plan and coordinate all the administrative activities of the section. This administrator will function as an integral member of the management team, serve as the key administrative advisor to the section chief and support the section in achieving both clinical and academic goals. Incumbent must continually monitor resource allocation and assess the appropriateness of methods of accomplishing administrative tasks, identifying and implementing creative solutions to the inherent problems in administration of sectional Unit. The manager must manage competing demands to insure that deadlines and obligations are met.


Skill in editing for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Ability to recognize, spell, and use technical and medical terminology appropriately. Typing skills to quickly and accurately prepare documents. Skill in proofreading typed materials. Knowledge of Epic/Care Connect System and SYSM Communication System. Skill in speaking clearly and distinctively using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information at various organizational levels within and outside the University. Ability to use software Word for Windows, Microsoft Windows, PowerPoint, Excel. Ability to enter and maintain accurate patient appointments and schedules utilizing an on-line computer data base system. Superb attention to detail. Ability to perform duties and tasks independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members and faculty. Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect relative importance of job responsibilities and in coordinating projects from multiple supervisors. Skill in exercising good judgment in referring calls to faculty. Ability to accept direction from supervisors. Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction. Ability to prioritize workload.
