JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Office Nurse schedules appointments; completes patient referral forms; schedules lab work, tests, procedures and surgeries and notifies pre-authorization and hospital of applicable cases; fills in lab slips and obtains waiver forms; obtains chief complaint from patients; identifies significant changes or high risk situations in patient s condition and takes appropriate actions; prepares patients for exams and assists with procedures; administers medications; demonstrates proficient skill in equipment used; provides appropriate education and documents response; takes accurate and complete phone messages for the provider; documents in the chart all authorized medical refills and the instructions given; completes all charting and documentation; notifies Supervisor of any potential problems; demonstrates the ability to adjust own schedule; completes charges and codes clinic care/procedures; files all papers and dictation; assists other offices; notifies appropriate personnel when provider will be out of the office and completes housekeeping tasks. Patients cared for include infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Required:
Holds current valid Minnesota license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Successful completion of the functional assessment.
Preferred:
One to two years clinical nursing experience, preferably in a clinic setting. Full-time Day shift Refer to Job Summary for Qualifications
