JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY CLINICAL AFFAIRS ANALYST (BILLING AND PRACTICE OPERATIONS)

Responsible for supporting the administrative and operational needs of the UCR school of medicine faculty/physician practices. Supports all the basic operational aspects of the physician practices as related to patient registration, scheduling, eligibility and benefit verifications and securing authorizations. Additionally, this position will facilitate, coordinate and manage the transmission of all billing encounters and associated coding functions for the medical group. The incumbent in this position will also perform analysis and report on billing trends, denials and payment variances. Must have the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, and work well with internal and external resources. Additionally, strong internal and external communication skills are essential to this position. Please note: Job requires local travel between UCR practice sites at affiliate institutions on a very regular basis.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
0 years of related experience.
Experience with IDX.
Familiarity/experience with practice management and billing information systems.
Prior customer service experience, particularly with physicians and patients in a medical office setting.
Minimum of 4 years experience in a clinical setting, preferably a doctor's office or other outpatient group practice
Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software.
Basic knowledge of financial data management and reporting system
Interpersonal skills; service orientation; active listening; critical thinking; attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, processes and procedures.
Ability to function effectively as a member of a team.
Knowledge of policies and procedures for clinical operations and basic billing practices. Understanding of third party payor networks and managed care processes for the local market. Basic knowledge of CPT coding and clinical documentation requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and internet resources.
Ability to research and analyze data. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization. Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple priorities in a high volume, demanding environment.
Knowledge of clinical practice operations in a multispecialty setting.
