Clinical Child Psychologist Position at Children's Mercy Kansas City
The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences at Children's Mercy Kansas City, Section of Psychology is recruiting an early to mid-career psychologist to provide psychological services to the children and families served within the ADHD Specialty Clinic and to engage in further program development. Specifically, the psychologist will have a dual focus on implementation of evidence-based clinical interventions for ADHD and associated common behavior problems as well as research and program development relevant to the clinic's practice. The psychologist will be responsible for the evaluation and treatment of ADHD and related disorders within an interdisciplinary team and provide consultation to schools as necessary. Additionally, the psychologist will have responsibilities for managing aspects related to the Summer Treatment Program for ADHD including staff training, program development, and direct patient care activities. The psychologist is expected to contribute to program development and conduct applied research related to the Summer Treatment Program for ADHD. Additional research and development activities will involve expanding the scope of the clinic's evidence-based services by developing a school consultation program and the evaluation of treatment outcomes. It is expected this faculty member will participate in both clinical and academic activities, with percent distribution of time being approximately 80% in clinical/teaching activities, including teaching pediatric residents and fellows, as well as participation in the APA accredited psychology internship program, and approximately 20% time in hospital service/research/program development/administrative tasks.
Applicants must have:
1) A PhD in pediatric psychology, child clinical psychology or clinical psychology
2) Completed an APA-accredited internship
3) Completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship in focused in clinical child psychology
3) Experience in working with children with complex psychological and behavioral problems.
4) Experience in working with families with significant psychosocial stressors.
5) License eligible in the States of Missouri and Kansas
6) Certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology within 5 years of employment
