Facility: St. Alexius Medical Center at Bismarck
Department: Education Center

Educator position for the Operating Room! QUALIFICATIONS Education: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required. Licensure: License to practice professional nursing in North Dakota. Must have a current drivers license. Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience related to area(s) of education responsibilities preferred. Skills: Two years of applicable teaching experience preferred. Working knowledge of basic clinical skills in delivery of patient care related to area(s) of education responsibilities. Certification: BCLS certification within 3 months of employment and meets BCLS recertification as required in the unit(s) of education responsibilities. Has attained a nursing certification or demonstrates progress towards completion of a nursing certification. Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with medical center staff, patients, families, visitors, and agencies. Accountable for own conduct. Promotes and supports positive working relationships among co-workers, staff, other members of the medical center staff, patients, families, and visitors. Maintains confidentiality. Physical Effort: Medium: involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds. Home Health care: Ability to frequently get in and out of vehicles. Ability to go into homes which may require a considerable amount of stairs or other barriers. Hours of Work: Variable work hours - day shift. Evenings and nights as need arises. Other: Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious environmental hazards. Able to respond and perform effectively if an unforeseen immediate educational need arises and in stressful situations. Home Health Care: May be exposed to aids virus, hepatitis B, and other communicable diseases. Universal blood and body fluid precautions must be followed. May need to drive during hazardous road conditions. Work environment in Home Health Care: Exposure to sights and odors that can be unpleasant, disagreeable or dirty; exposure to severe outdoor temperature changes. Part Time Day and Evening shifts
