Department: Physiology

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Physiology Services, provides leadership and guidance to the Respiratory Therapy associates and possesses and demonstrates appropriate knowledge and technique to provide appropriate clinical care to the specific patient population. Possesses and demonstrates adequate knowledge to provide respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients with technique appropriate to chronological, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Respiratory care delivered is ordered by physician according to established standards, practice and protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited program in RespiratoryTherapy. Maryland licensure or ability to be licensed required. ACLS and PALS certifications required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assesses the physical, psychosocial, spiritual & cultural dimensions of the patient as well as educational needs and appropriately documents.
Facilitate physician, staff and patient/family satisfaction, collaborating with the Operational Specialist for Rehabilitation and the Director of Physiology.
Facilitate work flow efficiency, monitoring interdepartmental systems and processes, departmental policies and procedures and making recommendations for improvement as needed.
Provides responsible respiratory care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures, scope of practice and legal and ethical standards
Communicates effectively with other health care providers.
Employs principles of therapeutic communication, interviewing techniques, problem-solving, and crisis intervention when performing patient care.

Leadership Duties/Responsibilities:
Implements staffing schedule and responds to daily staffing of department or clinic needs.
Coordinates quality management activities for the therapy activities including quarterly QA pro Full Time Days with call requirement AA/AS
