Objective:

Anne Arundel Medical Center s DeCesaris Cancer Institue is seeking an experienced and board certified medical physicist who would perform all aspects of radiation oncology physics services in accordance with established AAPM/ASTRO/ACR clinical guidelines, professional standards and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

The selected candidate will have a minimum of Master s Degree in Physics or Medical Physics with board certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics by American Board of Radiology or American College of Medical Physics. PhD is preferred with certification as mentioned above. He / She will provide independent and/or collective routine clinical physics services including quality assurance, dosimetry calculation, chart checks, 3D, IMRT and brachytherapy treatment planning, periodic machine calibrations and brachytherapy services. The candidate work closely with physicians, dosimetrists and radiation therapists towards high quality and patient safety, and will assist, when required, the existing team of physicists. The candidate is expected to be familiar and involved in various special procedures including HDR, PSI, SRS, SBRT and IGRT. Hands on experience in working with Varian EX, Novalis TX treatment machines and VariSource HDR unit as well as Varian Eclipse, VariSeed and BrainLab Iplan treatment planning systems is required. Working knowledge of radiation safety principles and a strong computer background is necessary. The candidate should have excellent verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. An up to date knowledge of trends in radiation oncology is preferred.
Regular Full-time (40 hours per week) Day shift, Monday thru Friday
