Serves as a role model of excellence in nursing knowledge and clinical practice. Develop and provide clinical educational programs across Northside Hospital System based on identified need in a cost effective manner. Scope of responsibility includes system wide clinical education programs, orientation, internships, in-services, and computer based learning modules.

This person will work within the Patient Care Education Department on system wide education issues and will also work with Interns and Nursing Schools regarding training and orientation for new RN s coming to the Northside campuses.


* Utilizes adult learning principles in the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of a of education programs * Serves on planning committees to assist in the development of education programs. * Maintain current knowledge in clinical practice to support program development and delivery. * Assist unit clinicians in the development clinical education programs. * Maintains current knowledge of cutting edge education models to delivery education. * Assist with the development and teaching of the preceptor development program. * Provide clinical rounding and support for interns and students. * Collaborates with clinical unit leaders in the development of unit preceptors. * Serves as a resource in the development of ANCC continuing education applications. * Participates in student placement program, evaluation, and support. * Plans and provide in-services to support implementation of new equipment, programs, and processes. * Proficient in computerized documentation processes. * Participates in unit competency training.

Provide quality improvement assessments, reports, and recommendations as needed.

Medical Surgical Educator

* Participates in competency training * Assist in development and teaching of Med Education program * Patient Care Tech education and competency * Preceptor program

Flexibility in hours and travel to sites per the needs of the department.

Required: Bachelors in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Three (3) years experience in clinical area. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). ) Preferred: Certification in Nursing Specialty


WORK HOURS: 8a-4:30p
