Since its inception in 1910 as a 24-bed hospital, Swedish Medical Center has grown to become a five hospital campus system - First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah.

In addition to providing general medical and surgical care, Swedish is a regional referral center for treatment in the areas of oncology, cardiac care, high-risk obstetrics, neurosciences, orthopedic surgery and organ transplant. Swedish also has an impressive array of specialty programs that includes sleep medicine, addiction recovery, pediatric services, pain management and home-care services.

Works with all the parties requiring clinical communications as a vehicle for sharing information and educating staff. Formats and publishes information that engages both in content and by appearance.

Facilitates projects requested by nursing leadership at all levels. Plans and manages ongoing events at both the organizational and department level.

Responsible to develop, coordinate and provide educational programs to maintain or improve the competency of clinical care providers. Activities includes orientation, training, inservice education and demonstrated skills competency for a house-wide and/or unit-based audience. Attends to the organization educational needs on all shifts.

Coordinates all aspects of the Nursing Annual Report.
BSN from an accredited registered nurse program required. MN/MSN preferred.

Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.

Minimum of 5 years clinical experience and recent work with an inpatient population.

Demonstrated writing skills and project management required.

Working knowledge of personal computers using email and Microsoft products, such as Word and PowerPoint, in a Windows operating environment.

Working knowledge of adult education principles in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of educational activities.

Experience developing and providing education in a health care setting.

Ability to set priorities and demonstrate time management skills given the high volume of required educational services.

Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clinical staff, managers and directors
