Job Description for Advertising Purposes

PTC, the provider of the most advanced cloud-based service and software for managing connected products and implementing innovative applications, is seeking a high energy Cloud Automation Team Lead to help manage our growing cloud services environment infrastructure. In this role, you will be the lead and mentor of the team that designs, develops and deploys the automation tools and infrastructure that supports the 24x7 operation of our customer s mission critical solutions. You will be hands on in developing an automation and management platform for PTC Cloud Services using an agile development methodology.

Responsibilities
*Design and implement an automation and management platform for use with all PTC Cloud Services offerings as part of an agile team
*Help select software tools to be implements into the automation platforms
*Gather requirements from the internal stakeholders for the automation and management platform
*Run agile development process for all projects (Scrum Master)
*Provide regular status updates to internal stakeholders
*Act as mentor to a team of developers/engineers and quality assurance engineers
*Documentation of the design choices and infrastructure requirements

Technical/Professional Knowledge/Skills
Required Skills:
*Strong understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the IT field
*Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities and meet deadlines
*Self-motivated; able to work independently; able to quickly learn new technologies
*Extensive exposure and familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other similar platforms, including use of their APIs.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences alike.
*Extensive experience in using and designing the deployment of automation technologies such as SaltStack (Preferred), Ansible, Puppet, Foreman etc.
*Experience in working with large multi-tier enterprise applications
*Experience working with Scrum/Kanban in an Agile development environment
*Release engineering experience
*Understanding of security and compliance practices, as well as secure coding practices

Preferred Skills:
*Exposure to large scale database deployments (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
*Exposure to containerized deployments (Docker etc.)
*Experience with any the following tools: Git, ServiceNow, Sumo Logic, Intigua, Jenkins, Zabbix
*Working with a globally located team
*Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices

Education & Experience
*Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
*Requires a minimum 4 years of systems administration experience.
*4+ years of experience automation/DevOps in a large scale 24x7 environment
*3+ years of experience in scripting/coding/markup (languages preferred: Python/YAML/etc.)
*Experience with enterprise software environments (SaaS and/or PaaS).
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
