Florock has distribution throughout North America as well as a reseller in the United Kingdom.

Coatings Operations Director



Reporting directly to the VP Coatings, the Director of Operations will be based in Chicago, IL. Support for the company s growth demands a highly experienced operations leader to oversee manufacturing, strategic sourcing partnerships and oversight for the company s supply chain, operations, and regulatory functions.



The Director of Manufacturing for Tennant Coatings Inc. will lead a cross-functional team of employees including lean manufacturing, quality, production planning, material handling, procurement,and manufacturing engineering all focused on the success of the facility.
Highly visible role with responsibilities including Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Inventory and Engagement objectives for the facility.
Manage multiple sites and 3rd party supply relationships (private labelled finished goods)
Responsible for Full Budget (development and adherence to) for the entire plant
Must be able to promote collaborative decision making, strategic thinking and a sense of urgency regarding quality at a system, product and process level
Exceptional communication and influencing skills are key; knowledge of how Quality integrates into a Lean manufacturing environment is critical
Develop and manage Company-wide Supply Chain function including Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP), procurement and logistics
Serve as a key member of the Coatings leadership team and participate in key business decisions and company strategy
Provide input and direct operational support for all acquisition targeting, diligence and integration



Responsibilities:
Ensuring employee engagement for members of the operations team, focus on developing a high performance team
Continuous improvement initiatives including the continued implementation of Lean Manufacturing and other Continuous Improvement activities
Reducing waste and optimizing asset management
Quality improvement programs
Anticipate and adhere to EHS standards
Kaizen events, Root Cause Analysis and Value Stream Mapping
Build and develop operations leadership and staff
Oversight of the value add and business operation
Link objectives into Lean manufacturing culture and objectives
Partner with broader Tennant team to leverage scale from parent company while maintaining agility of the Tennant Coatings Inc. Platform

Required Experience:
Bachelors of Science degree in a technical field (Chemistry or Chemical engineering preferred)
MBA preferred
10-15 years experience in manufacturing, preferably in a chemicals environment
7+ years experience leading teams in manufacturing, materials or engineering environment
Experience with High volume, low complexity product in a continuous process preferred
Training and leadership position experience in Lean continuous improvement methodologies required
Experience managing cross-functional teams
Strong financial acumen
Prior Mergers and Acquisition experience preferred
