Responsible for selling Tennant's line of coatings and related products.
Primary objective - To profitably grow Tennant coating business, in assigned geography.
Key metrics include year over year growth and gross profit improvements, and attaining MBO s as set each year by sales management.
Takes initiative and ownership to identify and achieve goals and objectives
Identifies and develops strong coating contractors throughout assigned geography.
Able to work and partner with Contractors, Architects, and all Tennant field positions.
Able to evaluate floors and floor conditions for repair or enhancement.
Works with and trains do it yourself (DIY) applicators on installation of coatings
Able to develop presentations / scope of project documents.
Sets appropriate timelines and follows projects and tasks through to completion
Thinks and acts strategically and at the appropriate level
Examines issues from multiple perspectives to develop effective and sustainable solutions
Establishes a clear line of sight between customer needs and organizational objectives
Effectively integrates and manages the interface between groups
Exceptional organization and prioritization skills
Strong negotiating and selling skills
Strong presentation, training and facilitation skills
Proficient at interacting with people at all levels of an organization
Completes all paperwork and reporting as required.
Executes sales strategy in the assigned geography as directed by the Coatings RM.
Makes Sales calls, cold calls, and customer calls (face to face, emails, and phone calls)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
4 year college degree or related experience with preference on 4 year degree.
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
Must learn and stay in tune with technical knowledge associated with concrete, floor preparation and coating technologies.
Ability to problem-solve.
Ability to strategize and capitalize on new opportunities in defined market.
Ability to work closely with third party organizations (Contractors) and develop strong relationships.
Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline oriented environment.
Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment, and effectively plan time and territory.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining a client service orientation.
Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information.
Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business.
Ability to take direction.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations.
