Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton located in Denton, Texas, is a comprehensive, state-of-the-art facility, serving people across North Texas and Southern Oklahoma and brings together nearly 900 employees and an experienced medical staff. With 272,538 square feet, the facility is licensed for 255 beds and has a broad range of services, including Open Heart Surgical Services, The Center For Women, A Comprehensive Cardiac Services Department with Chest Pain Accredited designation, Outpatient Surgical Services, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), 64 slice Computerized Tomography (CT), Bone-Density Screening, Wound ManagementOstomy Center, 28 all-private-bed Emergency Department, Accredited Mammography, Oncology Services, Physical Therapy, Lithotripsy, Sleep Studies and Sports Medicine. Texas Health Denton is conveniently located on Interstate 35 and is approximately 45 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, TX and 40 miles northeast of downtown Ft. Worth. Texas Health Denton is in search of a HIM Coding Manager. Our HIM Coding Manager will report to the Director of HIM and will be responsible for management and productivity of eight 8) onsite full time Coders. Schedule Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week Monday -Friday Day Shift To learn more about our Coding Manager opportunity, Texas Health Resources including our mission, our values and the communities we serve or to join our Talent Community to receive email notifications of future opportunities @ http:bit.lywFo0mZ or email us at HIMcareers@texashealth.org Minimum Requirements Qualifications: -Associate Degree in Health Information Technology. -RHIA, RHIT, or CCS. -Three (3) years of ICD9CMCPT4 coding and DRG assignment in an acute care setting. -Proficient in computer keyboardingsoftware applications; Advanced writtenverbal communication skills to effectively communicate to physicians, documentation specialists, and other departments. -Demonstrates strong decision making problem solvingadvanced critical thinking skills; Personal initiative to keep abreast of new developments in coding. Preferred Requirements Qualifications: -Bachelor Degree and AHIMA certification: RHIA, RHIT, CCS. -RHIA and CCS OR RHIT and CCS. -Five (5) years of ICD9CMCPT4 coding and DRG assignment in an acute care setting. -Ability to code inpatientambulatoryobservation records meeting productivity and accuracy standards. Job Duties Responsibilities: -Performs ongoing critical assessment of coding, DRGAPC assignment on all types of coded accounts to include individual coder assessment for accuracy and compliance with THR Coding Compliance Guidelines. -Effectively uses abstracting databases, internal and external audit results, QIO reports and revenue cycle editdenial information. -Trains new and existing coding staff based on needs identified via ongoing assessments, regulatory and THR policy updates, and entity personnelworkflowtechnology changes. -Participates in the recruitment, hiring and termination of staff. -Manages staff schedules for the department. -Serves as a resource to other departments, medical staff, and BO for coding, -DRGAPC assignment, data integrity and other qualityfinancial issues related to codingreimbursement. -Provides backup coverage for HI Director as required, assists with coding workflow relating to revenue cycle procedures, CDMP processes, and provides reports as requested. -Performs other duties as assigned.
