JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB SUMMARY
The UK Libraries Special Collections Research Center seeks applications from graduate students for the Colonial Dames Internship. The Colonial Dames Internship, funded by the Colonial Dames, give students the opportunity to learn work with rare and unique archival collections. The intern will learn how to arrange and describe archival collections and create a research guide. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will give a presentation about the project to the Lexington Colonial Dames
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
The student should have attention to detail, writing, and editing skills, and the ability to follow department procedures and policies and to work independently. It is expected that the student assistant will maintain a regular work schedule. Must have respect for the intrinsic value of archival materials.
DOES THIS POSITION HAVE SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
Basic computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications, as well as an understanding of database management.
