GENERAL FUNCTION: The Commercial Loan Doc Prep Specialist I will be responsible for the accurate and complete preparation of lending documents utilizing the document preparation system in accordance with the approved credit facility. The Doc Prep Specialist I will be responsible for meeting completeness, turn time and accuracy requirements dictated by established service level agreements. The Doc Prep Specialist I will work closely with the Loan Closing Specialists, Business Banking Officer, Branch Lender, Relationship Manager and external closing agents and will be responsible for releasing the complete closing package directly to the field for execution with the client.
Under close supervision and using well-established guidelines, process a basic line of loan product set, along with modifications and renewals of the product set. The position will require a basic level of knowledge of loan documentation, policies and procedures as well as knowledge of assigned product lines, lending operations, policies, practices and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
¿ Maintain a solid foundation in all areas of commercial loan documentation for all states in the Bancorp footprint, keeping abreast of changing legal situations, industry trends and product specific issues. Demonstrate and appropriately apply a working knowledge of diverse commercial loan documentation, legal requirements, Procedures, State and Federal laws and Regulations and apply that
¿ Analyze and interpret the Credit Approval document, and supplemental vendor information to determine borrower, collateral and guarantor requirements and ensure production of appropriate documentation in compliance with the terms of the loan request.
¿ Collaborate and provide feedback to Loan Closing Specialist on any concerns identified as it pertains to loan documentation.
¿ Prepare all commercial loan and collateral documentation for new and renewed loans, which may have a complex loan structure or collateral requirements, ensuring that all prepared loan documents are in compliance with the credit approval document.
¿ Input all required entity data, loan products, collateral details, covenants, representations and warranties accurately into the documentation system to result in a work product that is error-free.
¿ Determine all documents required for the various loan structures.
¿ Prepare loan documents utilizing the vendor document preparation system.
¿ Prepare non-system generated loan documentation for loans as required.
¿ Ensure that any special conditions, terms or requirements imposed by the credit approval are contained in the loan documents. Determine if modifications are necessary to the standard loan documents and work with department manager and in-house counsel to edit language in order to meet the requirements of the loan approval and to provide good customer service without compromising the enforceability of loan documentation.
¿ Review closing documentation for completeness based upon credit approval and other information provided.
¿ Establish, foster and maintain strong working relationships with Loan Closing Specialist, Relationship Managers,Branch Officers, and department managers. Provide a high level of customer service when responding to internal departments to resolve questions. Act as a liaison to LCSs and lenders to assist them with technical questions and provides them with a high level of loan documentation knowledge.
¿ Forwards closing package electronically to closing site with appropriate closing instructions and additional required documents (e.g. settlement statement, privacy notice, etc.).
Works directly with the field to facilitate any non-material changes that need to be made to the closing package.
