SolarCity is looking for an O&M Commercial Project Manager who will be responsible for coordinating and organizing post construction remediation efforts. This position will be responsible for working with designers, engineers, architects, supply chain, subcontractors and clients. Projects include, but are not limited to, equipment relocation, customer site expansions, multi-site inspections and remediation, system failure investigations, reconstruction, removal and relocation or replacement of PV systems, as well as various other projects.
Negotiate contracts with clients, vendors and subcontractors
Manage budgeting, scheduling, plan-checking, permit acquisition, inspections and recommissioning of sites following re-construction
Develop RFPs, evaluate proposals, hire and manager subcontractors and ensure safe and successful execution of projects
Manage and respond to client requests for system removals, reinstallations, and equipment relocations
Manage relationship with the customers to schedule work and coordinate services and site inspections involving systemic issues across a product line or client s portfolio
Monitor day to day work of subcontractors and engineers for process adherence and compliance
Oversee installation crews and installation progress and manage the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle, including advising on design process and obtaining final permit, and secure any unique materials and/or equipment required to complete the project
Define elements of work, develop scope, solicit and manage bid process for subcontracted work as required
Develop and implement a project safety plan
Ensure project quality is at or above standards
Drive additional duties as required or as business needs change
BS/BA required, preferred areas of study in engineering, architecture, or construction related discipline preferred
3-5 years of construction related experience; 1-3 of that in PV Solar industry experience
Certifications: NABCEP; Certified Project Manager (CPM) certification, State Electrical Certification preferred
Experience writing, organizing, and evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFP s)
Knowledge of commercial construction including practices and sequence of work, construction contracts, subcontracts, and the bid process
In-depth knowledge of commercial PV installations, and wiring configurations
Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems
Experience managing matrixed project teams
Must have a clean driving record. (example, no DUI in the last 5 years)
Must have a valid state driver s license
Detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage shifting priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to positively and effectively interact with internal and external customers
Regular, reliable and predictable performance required
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal screen. Additional pre-employment driving and drug screens may be required based on job responsibilities
