Tennant Company is Hiring Service Technicians
Our Service Technicians are the face of Tennant Company, working with our customers to keep Tennant equipment up and running. As a hands-on mechanic, you will work at different customer facilities every day to maintain, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on Tennant products. Your excellent customer service skills and communication are important, to minimize costs and ensure every customer is satisfied with the products Tennant sells. Commercial Service Technician: Essential Job Functions:
* Basic repair and service on small commercial floor care machines. * Schedule visits to customer sites and arrange customer service calls to maintain effective customer service. * Business reporting documentation on the computer: timesheets, repair orders, machine checklists, receiving records, expense reports, and repair order logs. * Inventory management: Receive incoming parts orders, verify quantities, store material in proper service truck bin location, assign and adjust bin locations, and ensure that excess inventory is purged. * Communication: Talk with customers and advise on present and/or future service needs. * Estimate machine repair requirements and prepare necessary data to provide an accurate repair quote to the customer, including labor and trip charges. * Heads up to sales: Advise sales representatives of potential customer needs for equipment replacements or additions. Install new commercial products at customer sites as needed. * Always a Professional: Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment.
Required Skills and Competencies:
* Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude: Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repairs required. Ability to read a schematic or blueprint required. * Ability to safely use hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices. * Effective troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical and electrical systems. * Good communications, organization and estimating skills. * Basic inventory management skills. * Ability to understand and fill out service-related documents and paperwork. * Must be able to wear safety shoes and glasses.
Required Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational school a plus. * Valid driver's license required. All candidates must meet Tennant Company driving policy requirements. * Experience working in direct contact with customers on service-related activities preferred. * Must display positive attitude and desire to satisfy customer requirements. * To be hired, you must pass a company-initiated pre-employment background check, physical, drug test and driving record review.
