JOB DESCRIPTIONCommittee Administrator:
The Committee Administrator serves as the administrator of the graduate program in Theater and Performance Studies. In consultation with the Committee Chair, s/he supports the Committee's needs including but not limited to managing the budget and all finances, assisting in the launch of the joint PhD program and the M.A. program, coordinating the Committee's academic and co-curricular initiatives (including graduate course scheduling, correspondence with visiting artists and scholars, implementing programming from inception to event execution including publicity), managing the website, administering faculty searches and hiring processes, and general administrative management.
The Administrator develops and tracks the budget, managing all financial transactions and ensuring expenses do not exceed budget limits.
Helps plan and implement the Committee's programming: communicates with visitors, makes travel arrangements, assists in procuring visas, manages publicity and public relations, coordinates all logistics for events, ensures all expenses are processed in a timely manner.
Coordinates the design and creation of the Committee's website in consultation with the Chair; assists in the design of the website's architecture (excluding the writing of code, etc.), composes and edits content, maintains the website.
In consultation with the Chair, coordinates the launch of the joint PhD program in TAPS, including but not limited to coordinating communication with collaborating departments, coordinating curricular offerings, assisting with the recruitment and admission of graduate students. Helps to coordinate the TAPS program option in the Master of Arts Program for the Humanities (MAPH) in consultation with the leadership in MAPH. Coordinates the appointments of visiting professors and post-doctoral fellows, including managing travel, housing, and payroll.
Provides support for and undertakes modest research relevant to academic institution building.
This is a 20-hour-per-week position with benefits.
