Commodity Manager- Direct Materials

multibillion-dollar corporation seeks a Commodity Manager/ Direct Materials

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degreerequired
* 5-10 years (combined) including Procurement; Manufacturing and/or Engineering
* Ability to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
* Ability to multitask and adapt priorities quickly
* Effective and advanced communication skills
* Advanced planning able to identify key issues and effectively coordinate efforts to achieve resolution
* Leadership able to build internal & external alliances with focus on "customer relations"
* Business understanding of technical specifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develops commodity, supplier, and negotiation strategies in conjunction with stakeholders and executes to established timelines to ensure strategic direction within the business
* Interacts with both suppliers and internal customers to identify, implement, and realize optimal value and performance
* Partners closely with and builds strong relationships with internal customers (i.e., manufacturing, finance, quality, engineering, etc.) to understand and effectively respond to supplier and commodity needs
* Monitors commodity-impacting market trends to establish insight for strategy development, execution, and risk mitigation
* Provide purchasing support ensuring Procurement representation and participation in all issues related to assigned commodities
* Support the identification, research and evaluation of suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, service and reliability of supply
* Resolves any internal or external issues related to quality, cost, delivery, etc. to minimize the risk of interrupted supply
* Support the execution and management of Procurement processes for designated commodities to reduce total cost of ownership for goods & services while ensuring uninterrupted supply
* Facilitate Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) efforts including strategic segmentation and supplier rationalization
* Ensure supplier qualification efforts and ongoing quality management
* Manage and enhance supplier performance through the establishment of KPI's/SLA's (contract content) and effective supplier and stake holder interaction
* Assessing suppliers' products and service offerings to ensure compliance with specifications and performance requirements, the Manager will facilitate the analysis and evaluation of quotations, proposals, etc

* Scope of assignment includes:

* Ensuring internal & external relevant data collection
* Commodity cost modeling & analysis
* Negotiate, source, award, & execute across impacted Functions & Business Units
* Contract administration & compliance monitoring for assigned commodities
