Job Description

Growing grain business is looking for a Commodity Merchandiser
We are seeking a highly talented and energetic Commodity Merchandiser
to help develop new business and expand existing account relationships in organic and conventional grain commodities. The successful candidate will have deep ties in the agriculture industry and be energized to grow revenues and market share.

As our Commodity Merchandiser, you will:

Trade grain and other grain products and by-products at terms that contribute to maximizing company profits
Assist logistics management and low-cost analysis scenarios
Source new customers while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
Buy from farmers, processors and other brokers/merchandisers
Sell to dairies, pet food manufacturers, flour mills and other industrial end users domestically and internationally through telephone contact and with face-to-face customer visits
Track own sales, margin and credit figures to measure progress against goals
Understand the processing, market price and seasonal pattern of the commodity
Work closely with logistics, accounting and credit management

Bachelors degree in agribusiness-related field preferred. Experience working or spending time on farm is helpful. 3+ years sales experience, preferably in agriculture. Sales knowledge and negotiations skills and working knowledge of cash commodity trading and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) experience desirable. Organizational skills and program execution capabilities required. Proficient written and communication skills needed.

Proficiency with applicable computer software packages, as needed, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent opportunity with unlimited upward mobility. Competitive salary + benefits + commission + bonuses.
