(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) The Sr. Collaboration Engineer provides software development, systems integration, operations management, and supports software and infrastructure of Messaging & Collaboration services.

Collaboration Services primarily include U Mail and Connect email/calendaring/collaboration services for students, faculty and staff. Under general direction, this position is responsible for daily operations and collaborates on the engineering of services.

These are enterprise services serving over 30,000 individuals and are mission critical for day-to-day business operations. Other services that fall within this group's responsibility include various business technologies related to these primary offerings, such as inter related Identity management systems, web content management systems, mailing lists services, web analytics, and future systems related to collaboration services.

This Sr. Collaboration Engineer role works in concert with ETS Identity and Access Management (IAM) services and ETS Technical Support Services and may provide expert technical guidance for related Identity systems. This role also includes the responsibility of working with UCSB departments in planning and executing migrations from existing on-premise email/calendaring systems to UCSB Connect cloud solutions.

The Sr. Collaboration Engineer assists the Collaboration Architect on issues that impact design of future products or technologies. With direction, the Sr. Collaboration Engineer develops IT strategies and technology roadmaps based on core IT, business and operating objectives.

Ensures standards and framework compliance by providing well-documented standards, data models, and information system diagrams. Participates in the architecture review of all critical system designs and provides technical guidance in the selection and implementation processes. With direction, performs feasibility analyses, up to and including the most complex and advanced, on current and potential future projects. *LI-KA1

Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates will possess most or all of the following qualifications/work experience:
- 1+ years' experience in the design, engineering, and support of cloud based messaging and collaboration solutions.
- 1+ experience in Federated identity and access: i.e. Open Standards - SAML, Azure Active Directory, Access Control Services,
Cloud SSO
- 4+ Identity and Access Management experience with AD, LDAP, SSO
- 2+ Engineering experience with the design and integration of on premise and cloud hygiene and email routing solutions
- 2+ Working experience with MS SQL, MySQL, PowerShell, Python, Perl, PHP
- 3+ Working experience with Virtual Machine platforms VMWare or Hyper-V, etc.

Desirable Requirements
Degree in computer science or other engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of more than one programming language. Expert level knowledge of configuration management and orchestration tools. Experience with LDAP administration and virtualization.
