Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world s leading global law firms, is seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and execute a wide variety of internal and external firm communications projects. The primary responsibilities of this position include researching, writing, editing, and producing firm, practice group, client-outreach, and departmental publications and other collateral marketing materials, including website and intranet content; determining the substance and organization of materials and projects and executing them accordingly; counseling internal clients on editorial matters; ensuring that the editorial standards are consistent for all internal and external communications; and contributing to the firm s daily news publication.
The successful candidate will thrive on working in a fast-paced environment, be creative and proactive, and demonstrate the ability to think outside of the box. Candidates must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and possess superior written communication skills, such as proofreading and editorial and ad copy skills. This position requires a high energy level, flexibility with work hours, and occasional business travel.
Develops and creates a wide range of written materials while maintaining consistency in promoting the firm s brand image across all content channels, including website and intranet content and both internal and client communications.
Contributes substantively and strategically to public relations projects as needed.
Directs collaborative projects as needed in a variety of areas, including determining substance and organization of materials and projects; researching and analyzing relevant information; establishing deadlines and ensuring they are met; and providing direction and support to others in executing the project and overseeing their work.
Participates in the strategic and tactical development of the firm s editorial standards and policies.
Provides guidance and direction to internal clients on editorial matters.
Produces high-quality first draft materials on all projects.
Collaborates with marketing and communications teams on all issues impacting firm communications.
Must possess a Bachelor s degree, preferably in communications, journalism, or English.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in writing, publishing, or journalism, with project management experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications; prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports; effectively present information to internal groups and individuals; managers, clients and vendors.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
Proficiency in the use of MS-Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint, FileSite and database applications.
Strong organizational, team building, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential.
Experience in professional/consulting services and/or the legal field is preferred.
This role may be housed in the firm s New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., or Boston office.
